PONTICA, annual journal of the National History and Archaeology Museum in Constan\u0163a, has been published continuously since 1968. Starting with 2009 it also features a series of Supplementa. The area of scientific interest covers archaeology, ancient and medieval history studies, grouped in thematic chapters, in accordance with the content of each issue: Historica, Archaeologica, Inventaria Archaeologica, Epigraphica, Nomismata, Auxiliaria (Interdisciplinary Analysis), Rencenzii etc.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The main purpose of the magazine is to analyze important historical stages in which the Pontic area was defined as a contact area between the Aegean-Mediterranean and Transdanubian civilizations. These circuits concern: the Neolithic and Eneolithic cultures; elements of Greek-autochthonous cultural impact; the inclusion of the Pontic area in the Roman world as a stage preceding the expansion of Roman authority north of the Danube and in the intra-Carpathian space; the role of Christianity and late Romanism. Epigraphic and numismatic materials are also presented; secular reliefs and votive pieces; elements of architecture and Christian inventory; forms of urban organization; etc.<\/p>


The journal is addressed to the national and international scientific community, which works in the humanities, such as archaeology, prehistory and ancient and medieval history, but also to young researchers, historians, archaeologists in training. If in the first years the publication functioned as a mirror of the scientific activity of the Constan\u021ba museum, the share of articles by specialists inside the institution being overwhelming, in the last decades there has been an influx of external contributions as well.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
