Publication guidelines
Conditions for submitting manuscripts for the PONTICA journal
It is preferable that the works, written in Romanian or in an internationally spoken language, be processed on a computer.
in accordance with the journal's editorial rules and be sent to the editorial office at revista.pontica@gmail.com.
The text of the article and illustrations will be accompanied by the summary and keywords, in Romanian and English.
Text, tables and images (figures, drawings, photographs) must be framed within the page. It is very good if tables and images (figures, drawings, photographs) are also sent separately. Explanations of figures should be sent separately, not inserted into the figure.
The required Font is Palatino Linotype, with the following dimensions:
– article title – 12.5 points, condensed 0.4, bold, capital letters; author – 12 points, condensed 0.4; text – 10 points, extended 0.2; footnotes – 8.5 points, extended 0.4; summary – 10 points, extended 0.2; bibliography – 9 points, extended 0.2.
The illustration will be provided in .jpeg or .tiff format, minimum resolution 300 dpi. If scanning according to the requirements is not possible, the author may send the illustration in the original (drawings, photographs, slides).
The footnotes, numbered continuously, will be written according to the Anglo-Saxon system:
- author, year of publication of the work, page cited - if applicable, figure, table - (e.g.: PIPPIDI 1967, p. 84, fig. 3/4), and finally a bibliographic list ordered alphabetically by the names of the authors and chronologically for each individual author should be attached.
The bibliographic list will be written in the form:
- for author's book: author's name, year of publication, title of the work, volume (number and title), edition, series (collection), number within the series or collection, place of publication.

MADGEARU 2011 – A. Madgearu, Istoria militară a Daciei post‑romane 275–614, Târgoviște, 2011.
BARNEA, STEFĂNESCU 1971 – I. Barnea, Şt. Stefănescu, Din istoria Dobrogei. III. Bizantini, români și bulgari la Dunărea de Jos, București, 1971.
– for articles: author's name, year of publication, article title, publisher - for collective volumes, name of the publication or collective volume, volume, number, place of publication, pages of the article.

The titles for periodicals, volumes, catalogs, corpora, encyclopedias will be abbreviated as Manuscript preparation rules, Appendices 2 and 3 of SCIVA 46 (1995), 3–4, pp. 356–370. Any other abbreviations other than those found in the cited work will be presented explicitly at the end of the bibliography.
The editorial team reserves the right to reject any defamatory or unscientific reference to individuals or scientific institutions.
